Interested in Modeling?
I’m not looking for ‘model types.’ While I have worked with many professional models, the vast majority of people I’ve photographed for my nude work over the past two decades were not professional models. They are regular, everyday, got to go to work men and women; individuals who are single or married, or individuals in poly relationships; people who are mothers, wives, and girlfriends, or fathers, husbands, and boyfriends. They are artists, stay at home moms/dads, military, executives, and all manner of professionals. The bottom line is, I’m interested in photographing ‘real’ people, (not that ‘model types’ aren’t real people!), and it doesn’t matter if you’re tall or short, thin or curvy, busty or not, or what you shave or don’t shave; it doesn’t matter if you’re scarred and tattooed, or a blank canvas; if you’re straight, gay, bi, or trans. If you’re a member of the human family, and have an open mind with an adventurous spirit, and are at least 18 years of age or older, then we should talk.
I offer TFP (Trade for Photographs), or a combination of trade and pay. If you are modeling for trade or trade/pay, the number of photographs you will be provided with are agreed to prior to the session. All pay is hourly/daily and based on the model’s experience as well as the type of session. Models are granted a full-share of copyrights and unlimited use of images, regardless of whether compensation is trade based or financial. Sessions run an average of four hours, but can go a bit longer or shorter. All details of the shoot will be crystal clear before any photography begins.
Of course, all models must be at least 18 years of age or older, and proof of age will be required.
The Important Stuff…
You must be at least 18 years of age or older to model for my work. Proof of age and a completed USC 18 2257 Form will be required. Please bring two forms of identification with you to the shoot or preshoot meeting, with at least one of those being a government issued photo ID, such as your passport or driver’s license. I will provide all the necessary forms.
All models must sign an Adult Model Release.
All models will be asked to complete a ‘Model Work Styles Form’ on which you designate the styles of modeling you’re interested in doing; artistic nude or a combination of styles.
All models will be required to complete a ‘Model Stat Sheet Form’ on which your contact information, stats, (height, weight, measurements, etc.), and other related info is provided.
All models will be required to provide model reference images; these are standing/seated photographs of you clothed and nude. They remain in your secured modeling file and will never be shown publicly as they are for my reference only in planning sessions. You may provide them yourself, or I can take them as a part of the session.
Anonymity is not a problem. Though my preference is to work with people who don’t mind being identifiable in their photographs, we can work together if you wish to remain anonymous. I’m very good at keeping secrets. That being said, in 20+ years of photographing nude and erotic work, I have yet to have any model report being recognized or ‘outed,’ or to tell me of a single negative experience as a result of their decision to model.
About the question of ‘escorts:’ a lot of first time models or models new to nude/fine art work ask about bringing someone with them to their shoot…and there have been a great many spirited discussions about this on the modeling and photography forums. My stance on it is simple; if you genuinely feel that having someone with you will help you to relax and enjoy the experience, then feel free to bring them. That said, I do have some basic rules regarding the ‘escort’ presence during a shoot: first, they must be 18 years old or older. Second, they need to know what the shoot is about; nude, erotic, etc. Third, I strongly prefer they be a female friend or relative, and not someone with whom you have an intimate relationship, regardless of their gender. And fourth, limit it to one person; photography is not a spectator event! Beyond that, it’s good with me, and I’m happy to discuss this during shoot planning.
With new or first time models, I find it helpful to have a meet-up prior to the session, at a coffee shop or some other public spot. This allows us to get paperwork done, discuss mutual expectations, review shoot details, and get better acquainted.
From time to time, there are projects I shoot which may require models with a certain look; things such as minimal body art/tattoos, a specific body shape, etc. Those requirements will be noted in any ‘Models Wanted’ notices I post for a given project.
My work generally requires some degree of nudity.
I will be more than happy to provide model/photographer references at your request.
Presently, I am not developing projects for male models and/or couples. This can change, so please check back often for castings, etc.
If you have an online portfolio of any work you’ve done, a link to the work would be most appreciated.
The work you see in my portfolio is representative of what I shoot. Please don’t ask for me to change my shooting style just for “us to have the opportunity to work together.” I wouldn’t ask you do such a thing.
For more information on modeling for my work, please message me via the Contact page with ‘Modeling’ in the subject line. Feel free to ask any questions, etc. Let’s create something beautiful!
